Although Broestl & Wallis Fine Jewelers
has been in Lakewood since 1987, it's built on years of experience and
community involvement.
From charity events to design contests, the jewelers have made their
distinctive mark in the area. Master designer Dan Wallis opened up shop
after leaving predentistry school in 1966 to earn 50 cents an hour working
for another jeweler. He learned the business from the ground up and over the
years, gradually brought his cousin Jeff Broestl into the company at the age
of 15.
Custom work has become a specialty of the shop, accounting for about half
of the business. They specialize in creating truly unique pieces of fine
jewelry for clients who desire something extra special. They also encourage
clients to envision designs of their own, which the jewelers then
manufacture right in the store.
"We have the experience necessary to see in our minds what the piece will
really look like and how it will hold up before it is made. We can advise
the client on what is possible, and work together to come up with a
successful design.
"The most interest designs are not necessarily the most expensive, and I
enjoy a creative challenge. Those on limited budgets should not assume that
they cannot afford a custom made piece of jewelry!" - Dan Wallis
